Obstacles!

Starting an online business has been difficult.  My major obstacle are time constraints.  There just doesn’t seem to be enough hours in the day to accomplish all of my goals.  I am working towards organizing my time better and setting priorities.  I am currently working on my first VRE website. 

For those of you that are unfamiliar with the term VRE it stands for Virtual Real Estate.  John Reese one of the top Internet guru’s today coined the term.  I have read a lot of his advice but have been following Sydney Johnston’s Building Wealth One Website at a Time Plan.  I am not specifically recommending any plan right now until I see results.  If it is successful, I will definitely shout out positive testimonials.  That’s all for today have to get back to my day job.

Affiliate Marketing

Hello All,

One of the new tactics I will be utilizing in my online endeavor is Affiliate Marketing.  Basically, a person earns money with Affiliate Marketing by promoting someone else’s product.  For Instance,  I decide to place a link on my site for Amazon.com and someone clicks on that link then purchases something from Amazon, I would then get paid a commission for referring that person to the site.  All of the major consumer sites offer affiliate programs.  Next time you are on a large site that sells products, look down on the bottom of the web page at the footer and most will have a link to their affiliate program.  Anyone who has a website can  apply to become an affiliate to promote their products.

There are also many companies that specialize in Affiliate Marketing.  The two largest are Linkshare and Commission Junction.   All legitimate Affiliate programs are free to join.

Beginning of Journey!

My attempts to build a successful business.

Today, there are hundreds if not thousands of people trying to make money using the internet.  My name is Marlene, and I am one of those people.  Over the past five years, I have tried MLM, EBay selling, and building a profitable website.  None of my endeavors have been successful.  I now realize that I had some serious personal issues throughout those past 5 years that prevented me from seriously persuing my dreams of building a profitable work from home business.  I dabbled in a lot of things but never actually put forth a seriously concerted effort to make it work, until now.

I am in the beginning stages of a new endeavor.  As I set my goals and develop my plan, I realized that there are probably tons of people out there who have been in the same situation as myself.  Anyone that has tried internet marketing or any other work from home scheme has come across hundreds of testimonials from people claiming to make thousands of dollars a month.  I personally have fallen prey to a few of them. I have probably spent a couple of thousand dollars buying this product and that product trying to be just like them.  I have read thousands of E-book pages written by various so called internet gurus on how to make money.  Never knowing whether or not they were truly successful. 

Well, as I embark on my new online business, I want to bring you along with me.  In this blog, I am going to document my new journey.  I will discuss my progress (or lack of) every step of the way.  Lets see if an every day normal person with no internet, marketing, or html experience can actually build a successful online business.   For all those people out there wondering,  like I have been, whether or not it is truely possible to build a profitable work from home internet business, lets find out together.
